Meet Our Pastor

The Reverend Shonda Nicole Gladden, PhD, is the Pastor of LaPlata AME Church and
the CEO of Good to the SOUL, LLC,
a faith-informed, justice-centered social enterprise
that accompanies young adults and communities
in vocational discernment and
liberative leadership formation.
A scholar, pastor, and public theologian,
Pastor Gladden works at the intersection of
Womanist thought, digital culture,
and civic engagement,
helping people connect their stories and gifts
to the work of social transformation.
Her pastoral ministry, writing, teaching,
and consulting draws on
more than thirty years of experience
in ministry, higher education,
and community organizing,
cultivating brave spaces
where individuals and institutions
can imagine lives and structures
that are good for their souls and good for the world.
