Aisha C. Johnson

Aisha Clarke Johnson is a servant of God and a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Johnson got her start in ministry in 2006 when she was appointed Church School Superintendent for New Hope A.M.E. Church in Waldorf, Maryland, by then pastor Rev. Kenneth L. Young. It was there that she answered God’s call on her life, and was thus licensed to preach in 2007. Rev. Johnson proceeded through the Board of Examiners receiving her Deaconate Orders in April of 2010 and her Elder’s Orders on May 24, 2013. At the same time, she matriculated through Regent University School of Divinity earning both her Master of Divinity and M.A. in Human Services Counseling degrees.

Rev. Johnson remained in service at New Hope as the Church School Superintendent for nearly ten years. During this time she was privileged to serve on the Executive Council for the Capital District Church School Convention. Other than church school, Rev. Johnson ministered most often in the area of discipleship training of clergy and church leadership. She describes her personal mission as: “Taking a stand to reach and prepare others for elevation to their full potential.”

In 2012 and 2014 Rev. Johnson traveled to Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on mission trips coordinated by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Weaver, Pastor of Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church. She was part of delegations that provided medical care, ministry, and clergy training.

To the Glory of God, on April 22, 2016, the Rt. Rev. Dr. William P. DeVeaux, Presiding Bishop of the 2nd Episcopal District, appointed Rev. Johnson Pastor of Cornerstone A.M.E. Church in La Plata, Maryland.

Rev. Johnson earned her B.A. from the University of Delaware and her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. She is an Attorney for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. She resides in White Plains, Maryland with her new husband, the First Gentleman Brian A. Johnson, and their dogs, Aiv’Ree and TuPac.

All the praise glory and honor goes to the Lord for what He has done in Rev. Johnson's life. As written in Psalms 126:3: “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
